meaning. विसमहिअं-विषमहृदयं or -धियं and विषमधिकम्. विणअत्ति= विनत + अर्ति and विनता+अर्ति. गरुड is a mythical bird-man on which विष्णु rides. कश्यप was his father and विनता his mother. विनता was not on good terms with her cowife and superior कद्रु, the mother of serpents, and was treated by her almost like a slave. wanted to rescue far from this slavery, but the serpents demanded अमृत as a price for विनता's freedom. अमृत or nectar was obtained, and in addition I got a boon that all the serpents would be his food. gave 3 to the serpents and rescued his mother; but, with whom had already entered into conspiracy, outwitted the serpents and carried the pot of nectar Cf. भाग० 10.44. 36 - तं खङ्गपाणिं विचरन्तमाशु श्येनं यथा दक्षिणसव्यमम्बरे । समग्रही दुर्विष होतेजा यथोरगं तार्क्ष्यसुतः प्रसह्य || On the next verse

55. पवडिअ - प्रपत्य, Gerund of प्रपत्. The word वत्थि perhaps stands for or fat. If it is to be traced back , a taft word for ч, then it refers to the bony socket of the heart. I have taken from 5 U, to injure, to hurt.
56. गरुड is the conveyance of विष्णु, but he is allowed to sit on the roof when विष्णु is driving in a chariot ; so विष्णु-कृष्ण gets the title गरुडध्वज. Here the figure of speech is अर्थान्तरन्यास.
57-8. Compare भाग० 10. 44. 42; also कंसवधम् of शेषकृष्ण vi. 46. Such descriptions are quite common in Indian literature in such contexts. Note the alliteration here and there.

59. कंस had eight brothers कङ्क, न्यग्रोधक etc. See भाग ० 10.44. 40-1. The second letter is the same in all the four lines. Though the brothers were wicked, they went to heaven because they were killed by who is an incarnation of God.
