The source of misery is ignorance whereby living beings are infatuated. One desirous of happiness can destroy it by virtue of the company of the good.
दुःखस्य
सत्संगतः
मूलमज्ञानं
तेन मुह्यन्ति जन्तवः ।
सुखाकांक्षी समुच्छेत्तुं
तदर्हति ॥ १ ॥
દુઃખનું મૂળ અજ્ઞાન છે. એથી જીવા મુંઝાય છે, જેને સુખની આકાંક્ષા છે તે સત્સ ંગથી તેને ( દુઃખમૂલને ) ઉચ્છેદી
