________________ Atimuktak who was also fascinated by the game began to play the same game. He too began to float his PATRA as boat on the water. Then he said smiling. "A small lake and tiny boat!" Seeing how the boy was playing, the old Muni said, "Oh, Muni! What are you doing ? We Muni's do not even touch cold water which has life in it but here you are playing with it. Think well about what you are doing! What a great sin you are committing!" The young Muni heard all this with deep attention. He repented his action and stopped playing at once. Then the two Muni's started on their way to the Lord's Samavasaran (the place where the Lord was preaching). The old Muni approached the Lord in the Samavasaran and said to the Lord, "Revered Lord! This young Muni is innocent. He is committing mistakes. The Bhagavan then advised the young Muni to carry out an austerity called 'Iriyavahiyam' by way of repentance for his er ror, Accordingly the young Muni, Atimuktak then carried out the austerity of Iriyavahiyam with such deep devotion and absorption that he attained Kevalgyan (the Supreme Enlightenment). The old Muni who was greatly amazed at this, stood watching the situation with stupefaction. The Moral of the story: Even in young age, one can attain Keval gyan if one has pure head. The only thing necessary is that one should be ready to admit one's mistakes and must be ready to carry out repentance with an open heart. 37
