JAINA CONVENTIONS:
2003 JAINA Convention Convenor: Mr. Anop Vora (585) 473-9290 This biennial event started in 1981 has become a unique socio-religious event for the entire Jain community of North America. Over 5,500 Jain brothers and sisters attended the Eleventh Biennial Convention held in Chicago in July 2001. Our Jain Monks, Bhattaraks, Scholars, and Dignitaries from all over the world graced the occasion. 2003 JAINA Convention will be held in Cincinnati, OH and hosted by Jain Center of Cincinnati & Dayton, OH
AHIMSA DAY CELEBRATION:

• To get all Jains Centers involved.
ANNUAL CALENDAR:
Chairperson: Mr. Rajeev Pandya (718) 816-0083 • Our mission is to publish colorful calendar with photographs of ancient Jain temples located throughout India. It
also lists the history behind each temple. The calendar has multicolor dated with American days and Jain Tithis. It
also lists Tirthankara's Janma and Moksha Kalyanaks. Accomplishments: • Have successfully published the calendars for three years, 2000-2002. We have received positive and encouraging
response from our Jain community. Future Plans:
• To continue publication of calendars.
GOVERNMENT & INTERNATIONAL ORGANIZATIONS : Chairperson: Dr. Dhiraj Shah (716) 773-1314
• To foster interaction, dialogue and communication with Jain organizations throughout the world
• To have a good working relationship with US, UK & Indian & other government Accomplishments:
Attended World Parliament of Religions in S. Africa - 1999. Participated in World Jain Confederation in Bombay, India - 2001 Awarded Certificate of Registration by United States Agency for International Development. Approved by Ministry of Welfare & Social Affairs of Government of India. Working with American Red cross on funds raising for Indian Earthquake. Working with Direct relief International for supplying Medical Equipment to India Working with Mission of Love, B.U.S.E.S. International & Inter Vol to ship Dental Chairs, Wheel Chairs & Medical Supplies to India. Chairperson Dr. Dhiraj shah was only Jain from North America who was awarded Jain Ratna on 2600th birth
anniversary of Lord Mahavir by Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Future Plan:
• Applied for United Nations Non-Government Organization (NGO) status. • To create more relationships to receive medical and other supplies in Disaster & Emergency situation.
JAIN POOJA & MARRIAGE:
• To perform Pratistha ceremony.
