Virchand Raghavji Gandhi Scholarship Fund Pravin C. Shah, Committee Chairman Virchand Raghavji Gandhi Scholarship Fund has been established to promote study on Jainism. The interest accrued from the fund will be used to give out scholarships to promote research studies on Jainism at recognized educational institutions in India. Recently, Pravin C.Shah (Chairman) and Kanti Mepani, members of this committee spoke to the Jain Sanghs at Philadelphia and Allentown about the project and received generous donations/pledges. The presidents of all Jain centers in North America have been mailed the flyers and an appeal for collecting donations from members and are requested to publicize the project and collect donations so as to enable the committee to start the implementation of this noble project. A list of donors of $100 or more will be published in the JAIN DIGEST. 1. This year, the celebration will be held on October 4. All Jain Centers are requested to plan their celebration on Ahimsa Day by inviting non-Jains to the program and giving a speech on Jain Ahimsa. They are also requested to contact Dr. Suren Singhvi at home 937/885-7414 or at office 937/435-5252 to inform him of their plans for the celebration.
