MRS. INDU JAIN BEST FILM LYRICIST '85
Calcutta. FEDERATION OF FILM JOURNALISTS of Bengal has voted Poetess Indu Jain as the best film lyricist of Hindi movies for the year. Mrs. Jain has written lyrics for many Hindi films. The award by the film journalists of Bengal is well known in India.
VISHAL KIRTI BHATTARAK PASSED AWAY
Latur, Maharashtra. SWASTASRI VISHALKIRTI BHATTARAK of Latur Mutt passed away on September 30th. Shri Bhattarak was a learned Samskrit scholar and was involved in various social service works in the community. Swamiji was 90 years old at the time of the death.
MAHAVIRA IDOL NEAR QUTAB CONSECRATION PLANNED
Delhi, November 3. Two and a half acre land near Qutab minar, in Delhi, is being prepared to install an idol of Mahavira Tirthankara at this site. The idol has been sculptured by Mr. K. Shyamaraya Acharya of Karnataka. It is 13 ft. high in padmasana pose, and the weight is 27 ton with another 20 ton of the pedestal.
