________________ KARNATAK GOVT. PLEDGES RS6OOK TO ACHARYA DESHBHUSHAN MAHARAJ HOSPITAL Shamanewadi, Karnataka. November 16. MOST DENSELY POPULATED AREA OF JAINS in Karnataka is Shamanewadi. The Jains of Shamanewadi have organized "Indra Dhyja Aradhana" celebration for World Peace through "Samyakt knowledge". Many prominent Jain Munis, Acharya Ratna Deshbushan Maharaj, Ganadhara Kuntu Sagar, Munishri Kanak Nandi and many prominent people, including Mr. R. K. Hegde, the Chief Minister of Karnataka, participated in the celebrations. During this occasion, Mr. Hegde had an audience with Acharya Deshabhushan. After the audience, the Chief Minister announced to the public that the Government of Karnataka has pledged Rs 600,000 donation to the DESHA-BHUSHAN MAHARAJ HOSPITAL under construction at Kothali. ANEKANT RESEARCH INSTITUTE OPENED IN UJJAIN Ujjain, Madhya Praseh. October 15. HISTORICAL UJJAIN now offers a unique place to Indologists and scholars to pursue research in Anekant, Linguistics, and Jain Dharma. Anekant Research Institute was recently inaugurated at Bahubali Kshetra in Ujjain with its first director, Dr. Harindra B. Jain.
