Rahúgana was prolably another une of Uchathya, as, with that supposition, the genealogy above given in accordance with latsya Paraná corresponds with the Pravaras The Pravarus make Vama leva, Avasy, and Usija the ancestors of Gotama: hut the Purana
makes them lis uncles. The difference is of little consequeuse. ŞThe Pravaras speak of Sarıdvat and Soma raja as the ancestors of Gotama; but their names
do not occur in the Paranas or elsewhere. They were also probably the sons of Angiras.
