It is said in the Puranass that the descendants of Rathîtara became Brâhmans and attached themselves to the family of Angiras. They accordingly pronounce the name of Angiras in their Pravara.

*Csabas, and Karenupul were probably the sous of Gotama. tho Sapt:a-Rishi. +Vide Vishnupuzana, IV amsa, 2nd adhyaya. Puranas say nothing about Ashtadanshtra, Bat Katyayava's Anukramani VIII, 43
speaks of him as a descendant of Virupa, whereas the Pratara makes him his ancestor. Probably there was also another Ashtadanshtra who was Virupa's ancestor;
