The news alarmed the Avadhoot; he asked
Why such inauspicious statement
that King Bhartrihari....?
No ! There is no king in Avanti at present. Avanti is without a ruler.
King Bhartrihari has renounced the world and retired into the jungle
for meditation.
And his younger brother Vikram ?
Prince Vikramaditya has also left. Nobody knows where he
has gone.
Now the throne
of Avanti will always remain unoccupied
