The king arranged for decorated chariots and a band. In one chariot sat courtesan Kaali with the stolen goods and in the other sat Dev Kumar. Large crowds gathered on streets and houses to see the strange thief. When people saw him they uttered
Is he the thief ? No ! He appears to be some prince. It seems that driven by her greed for half the kingdom, the courtesan
has trapped him.

Sire ! I know where the thief is but I need good
chariots and a band to bring
him here.
Dev Kumar entered the court and greeted
King Vikramaditya,
the king of kings, please accept homage
from Dev Kumar.
He can't be a thief. I feel like hugging him. How lovable, beautiful and radiant
he is!
Who are you young man ? Did you commit all these acts of theft? If yes, why ? And now why do you surrender
yourself?
Sire! Stealing was not my purpose. I only wanted to meet you after a display of my strength and
wisdom.
