________________ Interconnected Form of Sadhana That which benefits oneself as well as another is kalyanak' or full of auspiciousness. In the Jaina tradition, when a woman becomes pregnant with a soul who will become a Tirthanakara, it is termed as janm kalyanak' which means auspiciousness of birth. To consider the conception of a particular being as auspicious, points to three things at least - greatness of motherhood, greatness of fatherhood and a great life of the entrant being - both of his past life and that of the future. When one's child is said to be beneficial for his own evolution as well as that of humanity, then it has great bearing on his parents. The goal of their life as parents has been met.
