The second passage, quoted above from a work on the household ritual of the Sámavēdi Brahmans, explains what is meant by Śrisūkta, mentioning the three hymns which are collectively known as Srīsākta, viz.,
गावश्चिदासांमन्यवः Prap. V. 1, 2. यद्याव, &c., eight hymns. Prap. III. 2, 4.
सरवाय आ, &c., five hymns. Prap. VI. 2, 3. The Srīsūkta is also used by the Brühmans who belong to the Atharva Vēda as can be seen from the following passage :
The Śrīsūkta is referred to in the Visņu Purāņa, the first book, ninth chapter :
• The other works found in this MS. are Purusasuktam (fol. 1a), Dasasintih (fol. 6a), . . . . Namakam (fol. 14a), Pasupatistram (fol. 18a), Dēvīstavah (fol. 22a), Sivomēgāyatryastakam (fol. 247), Ēkāmrēśvarāştakam (fol. 26a), Sivastutiḥ (fol. 28a), Chāyapurusalaksanam (fol. 32a), Sadvarnamantrastakam (fol. 35a).
