The contents of the five Patalas have been divided into 32 sections ( sangrahas, the first 8 being called uddela and the rest, mahoddesa ) and 81 topics ( sthana ) which, according to the VP, stand as the nature of the Lord (VP, Vol. I, pp. 12-14).
