came to the same old hermitage where now Ṛṣidatta was staying alone. Remembering her he was overpowered with sorrow. He met the young hermit, who secretly recognized him. On enquiry from Kanakaratha, she told him that he lived there alone since more than five years. Kanakaratba somehow felt an intense liking for the hermit.
Returning from Rathamardana to Kaveri Sulasă too arrived there. Raidatta recognised her. Tempted by Rṣidatta's willingness to teach her the Stambhant and Vimocant Vidyas in exchange of her Avasvapin and Talodghafani, Sulasa got friendly with her and confidentially told her how cleverly she had managed to liquidate Rṣidatta in order to oblige Rūpiņi. Rṣidatta, giving an excuse cancelled the arrangement of exchanging the Vidyas. Sulasa left for Kaveri.

Excessively pressed by Kanakaratha, Raidatta spent one night with him at his camp. In the morning, Kanakaratha insisted that the hermit should accompany him to Kavert. Rşidatta consented after much persuasion.
They reached Kaver1. The marriage was celebrated. On Kanakaratha's insistence Rṣidatta shared the newly wedded wedded couple's bed-room. Once Rūpiņi revealed to Kanakaratha how she cleverly managed through Sulasă to dispose of Rsidatta and to call to call him Kaveri to marry her. Rṣidatta was overhearing this. [ According to another version of the tale it was Rṣidatta himself who narrated this account under the guise of somebody else's story. ]

Greatly pained by this revelation, Kanakaratha felt highly disgusted with Rapint and he promptly ordered her to leave the place. By atonement for the cruel injustice done to his beloved Raidattä, he prepared to immolate himself in burning pyre. All tried to dissuade him. At the last moment, Rṣidatta could stop him with a promise to show him his beloved living. Then behind closed doors she opened her thigh and removed the magic herb. Her natural form was immediately restored. To the overjoyed Kanakaratha, she related how she was let go by the excecuters and how she reached the hermitage and lived there. The nun Sulasă punished and driven out. Rṣidatia got Rüpint pardoned. Kanakaratha along with both the wives returned to his city. Hemaratha crowned him as his successor. Getting initiation from Acarya Bhadrayasas, he renounced the world.
