________________ TERMINOLOGY Ajiva : Non-living substance, like matter. Ари : Atom. Adharma : It is also The cosmic principle of rest. referred to as Adharmastikaya. Ananta : limitless. An kanta : the fundamental and the basic principle of the Jaina outlook which emphasises that reality is complex; it can be looked at from different points of view. This spirit of anekanta pervades the entire philosophy and the life of the Jainas. Antard ya-karma : the type of karma which inhibits activity which is essential for the self-realisation. Apavartana : It is the process of the expression of the operation of karma in which the intensity of the karmic experience is affected. Abadhakala : The period of time in which the karmic effect remains unexpressed and potential. Arthavagraha: Sensational stage in the perceptual process. It is an element in the eoncrete psychosis. Aloka : The infinite space beyond the universe space. It is limitless and unbound. Avagraha : Sensation. Avdya : An element in the perceptual process in the concrete psychosis. It refers to the formation of perceptual judgement.
