________________ Terminology 219 Karma: The after-effect of every action, physical, mental or moral. The Jainas have given a scientific theory of karma. Kaş dya : Passions ; affective intense states affecting the psycho-physical activity disturbing the process of self-realisation. Karmanasarira : Karmic body, like the electric body, the Taijasa-sarira. Kala : Time. Kēvalajñana : Omniscience. It refers to the knowledge. Kévala darsana : Perfect, omniscient form of intuition. Kșaya : Destruction. It refers to the destruction of karma. Jina : The one who has conquered the passions and imperfections, both bodily and mental, The Tirthankara is referred to as Jina. Cakravartin : Emperor. Tapa : Austerity. Taijasa sarira : The electric or the energy form of the body. Darsana : Intuition. Drsțivada : The canonical text supposed to have been directly received from the Tirthankaras. It contains philosophical discussion including other systems of philosophy.
