The cardinal prayer of the Jainas to be recited every day expresses the catholic outlook. The spirit of anekanta and the fervent recognition of the greatness present in all who are great, irrespective of the distinctions of caste, creed and race, pulsates in every letter of the prayer: D. Om namo arihantāṇaṁ Om namo siddhāņaṁ Om namo Airiyāņaṁ Om namo uvajjhayāņaṁ Om namo Loe savva sähūņaṁ Study of Jainism I I This is the cardinal pañcanamaskara (five fold prayer). Obeisance to those who have conquered the enemies in the form of passions and have preached the truth to mankind. Obeisance to those who attained perfection (Siddhi). Obeisance to those who are the teachers of righteousness to mankind (Acaryas). I I II Obeisance to all the preceptors to all the saint and the sages of the world (Sadhus).
