________________ 144 Secular Underpinnings senses and hence ever remains victorious. The pure soul has suppressed all senses and its operation of senses, thereby conquering all desires. As the pure soul possesses infinite power, God is said to have conquered or fallen thousands of enemies of impurities. The pure soul thus possesses thousands of virtues/properties as against thousands of vices. This is realised when the external world is conquered and identification and connectivity with the internal world of the soul is established. With the infinite power, the pure soul can be described as being the greatest warrior on transcending the conditioned worldly life. The purpose of any soul is to realize the pure soul and achieve the highest status by purifying itself, by acquiring such knowledge and annihilation of karmic bondage. Attachments and distortions, etc., seen in the mundane existence cause misery in the world. All these conquerable distortions have been conquered by the pure soul and hence it is the true conqueror. Constant meditation on the self, leads to lack of interest in sensual pleasures and thereby bondage ceases to take place. Thus, all evils/evil spirits are vanquished and the pure soul emerges victorious. 22. Best / Greatest - A secular concept has to be the best concept. If this shows any signs of inferiority or even second-best character, the concept loses its perfection and the highest status. A secular concept has to be superb and even the slightest or subtle misgiving about it is not tolerable. A secular concept has to be the greatest eternal concept, which can solve all riddles of what is known and what is unknown. Every being in the universe is by nature at par with the pure soul. Such a highest state is latent in all beings. All
