________________ Nyāyapallava, as the title suggests, can be expected to be an advanced work. However, it is not possible to say anything about it since it is not available now. Nyāyamañjari exhibits the intellectual maturity of the author. It shows his grasp of the subject as well as his originality of thinking A few points which would invite the attention of the scholars are as follows: 1) Jayanta accepts Sankhyā in the qualities (contrary to the dictum that a quality can not possess another quality). :: 2) He accepts bliss (ānanda) in Išvara. 3) Super-sensory relation (alaukika sannika. : rşa) is not accepted by Jayanta. 4) In egoistic knowledge (aham); what appe ars is only the body according to the author. 5) Jayanta asserts that even . Mādhyamikas accept jñāna as a reality (tattva). 6) Authority (Prāmānya) of āgamas (including those of Buddhists is accepted) by Jayanta. The above points show that Jayanta had an independent mind unfettered by dogma. If reason demanded, he never hesitated to accept any new idea or to reject any old idea. Hence, more investigation into the rich material in the Nyāyamañjari will certainly yield very interesting and useful results.
