WOMEN. Vasantasenâ. A rich courtesan who loves constantly the poor
but noble Chârudatta and ultimately becomes his wife, the heroine. She in her excellences surpasses even the married
ladies. Dhûtâ.-Wife of Chârudatta-a very noble and faithful lady
wholly devoted to her lord. Vriddhâ.—Mother of Vasantasenâ. Madanikâ.-The attendant of the heroine; beloved of S'arvilaka,
a clever girl, an appreciator of merit. Radanika.-Chârudatta's servant.
