The author of this book, Dr. Kailashchandra Jain has done the Sangh a favour in acccpting to write an exhaustive book on the Lord Mahavira at the 25th Centenary Year. Dr. Jain had been given full libcrty to compile material, draw inferences and express his vicws as he dccmcd fit. He is a distinguished historian and has written many books. While appreciating the hard work and industry that he has put in, it may be mentioned that the views expressed and inferences drawn or statements made arc cntirely of Dr. Jain's own studies and may not necessarily be according to beliefs of this Sangh.
