Introduction
Stabakas with fairly long comments
2.4 (32 Kārilās). Here, the three word-powers are discussed mainly on the basis of the views of Mammata and Hemacandra. Here also, only the first 8 Kārilās are commented upon, though elaborately.
3.4 (89 Kārilās). Here again, detailed comments are given only on 101, 102, 184, 187 and 188. Stabakas with very elaborate comments
Stabakas 1.2; 1.3; 1.4; 2.1; 3.1 to 3.4; 4.1 to 4.7. In 4.5, Kārilās 164 to 248 have no Vrtti.
The following other traits of the Vrtti may be noted –
(1) Amara Candra writes the Vrtti to give a fairly elaborate treatment in a critical and analytical manner, so that it can further elaborate and exemplify the discussion in the Kārilās and help us to understand them in the proper perspective.
(2) He cites so many rules and usages of grammar, metre, etc. to throw full light on the Kārilās.
(3) He gives so many more and elaborate illustrations, further to support the doctrines and discussion in the Sūtras.
(4) The Vstti is written also to reveal the fact that Amara Candra is 1/4", a ca in his treatment.
(5) The Vrtti also proves that the author's thinking on the topic of training and equipment of a poet in constant and unending.
Some other traits of Amara Candra may be noted as under in his Vrtti -
(6) In 2.3, Amara Candra gives very limited comments only on Kārilās 173 and 174 and has the following remark at the end.

(7) His comments on 4.1 are fairly long and elaborate. But even with this he is not satisfied and therefore states at the end -
शेषानलङ्कारान् मत्कृतादलङ्कारप्रबोधादवबुद्ध्याऽभ्यसेत् ।
