Many Kārikās, illustrations or parts thereof in Amara are repeated, very often verbatim by Deveśvara. In some, a large number of these in Amara are repeated in Deveśvara. To illustrate -
From 4.7 of Amara, atleast 30 verses or parts thereof are repeated in 47 of Deveśvara.
From 1.5 of Amara, atleast 43 verses or parts thereof are repeated in 1.3 of Devesvara.
In all others there are glaring repetitions though their number is small. This inspires De to state that --
".... it closely follows, in its treatment of subjects and general arrangement, Arisimha's and Amaracandra's work; and it is not difficult to show that he copies wholesale from the text of his predecessors. He borrows literally most of the rules
