________________ 1911] Shrimad Yashovijayaji. · [375 requested Anandghanji to give him suvarna-siddhi and other siddhis. Anandghaṇji was very sorry to know that an ascetic like Yashovijayji should so much care for acquiring siddhis and spoke emotionally the 13th gatha of the 4th Adhyaya of shri Utteradhyayana Sutra which runs as follows: जे संखया तुच्छ परप्पवाई ते पेज्ज दो साणु गया परज्जा । एए अहमोत्ति कग्गंछमाणो कख गुणे जाव शरीरभए । He gave Upadhyayji admonitions about the duties of Sadhus and said "Oh it is a wonder? I had formed high opinion ofa youand also thought of giving scme amnaya to you, but just as milk of a lioness cannot remain in an earthern vessel, so the knowledge cannot remain with the undeserving. Why all these ostante tions and vain shows, when you are possessed of sublime knowledge? These ostantations cannot speak well of you. Do you mean to say our ancient rishis were lacking in such powers as not to be able to keep such shows? You have not learnt that essence which they were masters of " Upadhyayaji hearing this was very much ashamed, and epented for his mistake. Here begins our hero's true philosopbi. ical stage. When we dive into his books, we can at once know that there is a great difference between his works composed before and after this period. To speak the truth, the initiator of Yashovijayaji to the true spiritual stage, was ShriAnandghanji. Hence he writes a penygyric in eight poems ashta-padi on Anandghanji and one of his best padas namely परम गुरू जैन कहो क्यम होवे. He considered himself to he highly flattered and fortunate by the visit of Anandghanji. After the, · last visit he could realise the definition of a frne Jain yogi viz.
