overlooked the achievements of Jaina School of astronomy whilst he ascribes to Mesopotamia the origin of ancient Indian mathematical astronomy. In fact, such a project has been first undertaken under the supervision of Dr. Shakti Dhar Sharma, Physics Department, Punjabi University, Patiala (India). The period of Post-Vedänga pre-Siddhānta Jaina school of astronomy has suddenly come to lime light.
