Jai Jinendra. On behalf of the Jain Society of Metropolitan Chicago and the Federation of Jain Associations in North America (JAINA), we have the pleasure to invite you to our Jain Center in Bartlett, Illinois on the twin occasions of the Pratishtha Mahotsava and the 8th JAINA Convention.
The Jain Society of Metropolitan Chicago started 25 years ago with a handful of members. Since then it has grown continuously until today when it is the the largest single Jain organization in America, with a membership of more than 800 families and is the largest Jain complex outside of India. It was constructed at the cost of more than $3 million, and it accommodates a beautiful temple with Shwetambar and Digambar idols of Tirthankars, Upashray, Shrimad Rajachandra Gnanmandir, Prayer hall, dining hall, youth room, and library. The main Pratishtha in Ghabhara was performed in 1993. This year we will have the Pratishtha Mahotsava for all 24 Tirthankars around the inner sanctum of the temple.
The theme of the JAINA Convention is "Peace Through Nonviolence". We are sure that you will enjoy participating.
Other highlights of the convention include: exhibitions, display of Jain art and architecture, cultural programs, slide and video presentations, and social events. There will also be Youth Programs on Jainism and classes on pooja, medication and cooking.
