OBJECTIVES RESPONSIBILITY METHODOLOGY TIME FRAME MEASUREMENT On going 3.1 To continue the interfaith dialogue started before and during the parliament of world religion in 1993 Interfaith Committee of Jaina Various Jain Centers JAINA Executive Committee By attending meetings and making presentations at activities of Interfaith organizations like NCCJ At least ten presentations made to other religious organizations 3.2 National and regional celebration of Ahimsa Day Various Jain Centers JAINA Executive Committee By student association of various universities Ahimsa Day Celebration Committee Inviting Jains and Non-Jains to the celebration By publishing the pamphlets on non-violence as it relates to the Jainism Every year on Sunday close to Gandhi's birthday Number of Jain Centers and student associations at various universities 3.3 Getting involved in animal rights and vegetarianism activities sponsored by local associations in U.S.A. On going All Jain Centers Animal Rights and Vegetarisaism Committee Attending the meetings by various animal rights groups Should at least attend four to five meetings in a given year 3.4 Getting involved in ecology environmental activities On going All Jain Centers Ecology and Environmental Committee Organizing Earth Day Planting Trees Arousing awareness through printed material Planting a tree at each center GOAL #4. To provide community service. OBJECTIVES RESPONSIBILITY METHODOLOGY TIME FRAME MEASUREMENT 4.1 Helping the poor, homeless, sick and victims of natural disaster On going At least to have three such events All Jain Centers World Community Service Committee JAINA Executive Committee By establishing drives for used clothes By having medical camp By establishing scholarships and other funds for other charitable activities GOAL #5. To provide better and long lasting organizational structure to Jaina which will help focus on: 1) professionalism, 2) effective communication, and 3) participative management at all levels of Jaina. OBJECTIVES RESPONSIBILITY METHODOLOGY TIME FRAME MEASUREMENT 5.1 Establish Jaina headquarters President of Jaina and JAINA Executive Committee Achieved President of Jaina to start the dialogue with various Jain Centers to achieve this objective On going for permanent location 5.2 On going Establish regional office in Canada as well as other parts of the United States Various Jain Centers JAINA Executive Committee Regional V.P. Seek input from Jaina's membership at large by publishing the request for their input in Jain Digest Establish at least two regional offices of Jaina per year. Canada office established 5.3 Develop Ten year plan and divide it into 5 two-year plans for five presidential terms Circulate draft plan in the community to get input.
