પાલીતાણા દરારની કૃતિ વિષે વિદ્વાનેાના અભિપ્રાય, કુટું
તે બહુધા આ ભાગમાં વહેંચાય છે તેથી તેમ.ના લેખો પ્રગટ કરવાની આ વસ્યકત્તા નબી, પરંતુ કલકત્તામાં પ્રગટ થતા અને દેશપ્રસિદ્ધ, અદ્રિતીયે વક્રતા, હિંદુના પરમ હિતગિનક તેમજ દીર્ધદષ્ટિવાન્ ખાત્રુ સુરેદ્રનાથ એનરજીની કસાયેલી કલમથી લખાતાં બંગાળી' પત્રમાં તે 'ધમાં હાલમાં એક લેખ આવેલા છે. તે અમારા વાંક વર્ગનેન્ટ નહીં પણ નામંદાર પાલીતાણા દાર અને શ્રાવક સમુદાયના આગેવાને ને જાણ થયાને ખાંતર અસલ હગ્રેજીમાં તેના ભાષાંતર સહિત આ નીચે પ્રગટ કરવામાં આવેલ છે. આશા છે કે વાંચક વર્ગ તેના યેગ્ય ઉપયોગ કરશે.

It is an open secret that the relation between the Thakor Saheb of Palitana and the Local Jain Community have been somewhat strained of late. We do not know which side is to blame for this unfortunate breach, but it appears that Thakor Saheb has lately been pursuing a course which can not fail to widen the little rift in the lute. The Jains have their sacred temples on the Shatrunjay IIill, and in accordanca with the custoin which has prevailed, since the foundation of temple, visitors are required to take off their leather shoes and put ou canvas shoes before entering the temples. Now it appears that the Thakor Salieb has taken it into his head to wound the religious susceptibilities of the Jain Community by instructing those of his guests who may desire to visit the temples not to take of their lether shoes, when entering the temples. As the Thakor Salicb is supposed to be a Hindu, surely Lo ought n t to know better than to instigate the commission of such a sacreligious act,
