________________ benevolence lies in doing good even to the ungrateful and the wicked, as was done by Shirpal to Dhaval Sheth. (34) Conquering Internal Enemies : Our enemies are within us in the form of passion, like anger, pride, deciet, greed, love and hate, which make up wander in the cycle of birth and death in the world. Hence, we should curb these basic instincts by knowledge and insight. Internal enemies beget external enemies. Hence, we must exert to destroy these internal enemies within us. (35) Control over the sense : We have five sense-organs : body, tounge, nose, eyes and ears. Mind is the sixth potent organ of sense and it should be controlled. The Gita says that our body is a chariot, the five senses are the horses and the mind is the charioter and the soul is the master, who rides in the chariot. If we do not control the horses of senses, we shall be born again into inferior form of life. Free indulgence of sense leads one on the road to misery, but control over them leads one to happiness. Choose the path that suits you.
