1 This reading seems to be certain. The following word is probably vijnapanaya as suggested here, the whole expression referring to a common Chalukya practice of making a grant at the request of the crown-prince. It must be noted, however, that the word for the crown-prince' is omitted here. [Grants were also made at the request of a feudatory or a high officer.-C. R. K.]
