Acaranga II
61
chapter 16 of Sutrakrtanga I the latter becomes a wholly verse_text, some bihing in harmony with its old title Gathäşodasaka meaning 'a text made up of sixteen verses'. [No difficulty ensues if the present chapter 16 of Sūtrakřtānga I is treated as chapter 4 of Acārāna II, for the latter remains as miscellaneous in one case as in the other ) Schubring's surmise sounds plausible but even if it is accepted Acäränga II in its chapter 4 would be offering nothing that is of historical importance.
