proverb: “The water-melon changes its colour seeing the change of colour in the other water-melons". This is the effect of company; and it falls on all. On account of the touch of the Parasmani (the pbilosopher's stone) a piece of iron becomes gold. The crops of water shine like gems upon the petals of a lotus and when they fall in a shell, they become pearls. When the same drops fall on a hot plate they go up in the form of stearn. The shells that roll with the waters of the Narmada river become conch shells and the stones become saligrams (holy stones that are worshipped by Hindus as embodiments of Gorl). Just as a wayfarer obtains rest in the shadow of a huge tree in summer; and just as a thirsty man quenches bis thirst at 2 cataract, one who has thirst for knowledge, satisfies that thirst in the company of the enlightened. Those who seek salvation obtain it by staying in the company of noble and saintly persons. Even wicked people like Arjunamali Drudaprahari and Chanda Kaushika obtained peace and spiritual elevation through noble company. The reason for their attainment of salvation is nothing but their noble company. Santh Sundar Dasji says that it is difficult to get the company of noble and saintly persons.
