________________ Shri Mahavir Jain Aradhana Kendra www.kobatirth.org Acharya Shri Kailassagarsuri Gyanmandir While performing the seventh kind of worship, the worshipper thinks that he should become anahari" (one who never eats anything) and attain Siddha pada (the state of perfection like the Lord) because he has been eating all kinds of delicious food and has been wandering through the four phases of existence. (Heaven, Human-life, animal-life anel hell) While performing the final or the eighth worship, the worshipper thinks that, just as the fruit is the most developed form of seer salvation is the most developed state of existence. In the entire tree there is nothing sweeter than the fruit; so also in the entire existence there is nothing sweeter than salvation. The worshipper thinks that he too show attaiu the bliss that the Lord has attained. We offer to the Lord's image those things that we love most in life and in this manner we practise renunciation and self sacrifice. "Taylfatarata.” (Thagyachchanthiranantharam) Endless peace emerges from self sacrifice. In Jain dharma, honour is given to those who make selfsacrifice. Arihantha and Siddha are Gouls. The mentor, the teacher and the ascetic are the three prceeptors. These five padas or exalted states are occupied by thyagis (those who have made a complete self-sacrifice).
