Glossary) "Moistening is the primary meaning of ullana when some liqueous food-preparation etc. like pulse-water, curds, buttermilk is mixed with rice to moisten it also came to be included in the meaning range of ullaņa. Similarly the primary meaning of temana is moistening. When some liqueous food-preparation like curry, pulse-water, curds etc. was mixed with rice to moisten it, that also came within the meaning-range of timaņa. In Modern Gujarati kasaņvù means to commingle rice and same eiqueous latable like curds, cooked pulse etc. to form a thin Jump. That seems to have been the primary meaning of Pk. kusaņa, kusaņiya (n.) also. Later on it came to signify such a mixture. References : Pinda-and oha-nijjhuttis-Vol. II, Test and Glos sary W. B.
