realized that the right way of gaining enduring happiness is to stay detached. As the concept of detachment took a strong hold over him the Karma that were obscuring his perception started melting away. He thought that it was time to get rid of all desires. He decided that he would not ask for anything from the king.
As he went back to the court the king asked him what he had decided to ask for. Kapil

replied that he did not want anything. The king was very surprised and asked him the reason for that. Kapil narrated how his mind had gone to the extent of asking for the entire kingdom and how he could calm it down by getting rid of all his desires and greed. Then he said that he felt content with the sense of detachment that he had developed. Kapil left the court with a feeling of detachment that shortly afterwards led him to omniscience. He is known as Kapil Kevali.
