अर्थात - किन्तु चाहे जाट और राजपूत पहिले भिन्न थे या नहीं, और चाहे कुछ भी प्राचीन

मिस्टर च्यार्जीलेथमके एथोनोलोजी आफ़ इंडिया पृष्ठ २५४ के एक नोटसे जाट - राजपूत के संबंध पर इसतरह प्रकाश पड़ता है – “ The Jat in blood is neither more nor less than a converted Rajput, and vice versa; a Rajput may be a Jat of the aucient faith. '

अर्थात- जाट रक्तमें परिवर्तन किये हुए राजपूतसे न तो अधिक ही है, और न कम ही है । किन्तु अदल बदल हैं। एक राजपूत प्राचीन धर्मका पोलन करनेवाला एक जाट होसकता है ।"
