नवपदार्थ-मोक्षमार्ग वर्णन जीवस्वरूपाशोऽयम् । जीवा संसारस्था णिव्यादा चेदण-प्पगा दुविहा । उवओग-लक्खणा वि य देहा-देह-प्पवीचारा ।।१०९।।
जीवाः संसारस्था निर्वृत्ताः चेतनात्मका द्विविधाः ।
उपयोगलक्षणा अपि च देहादेहप्रवीचाराः ।।९०९।। जीवाः हि द्विविधाः, संसारस्था अशुद्धा, निर्वृत्ताः शुद्धाश्च । ते खलूभयेऽपि चेतनास्वभावाः, चेतनापरिणामलक्षणेनोपयोगेन लक्षणीयाः । तत्र संसारस्था देहप्रवीचाराः, निवृत्ता अदेहप्रवीचारा इति ।।१०९।।
अब जीवपदार्थका व्याख्यान विस्तारपूर्वक किया जाता है ।
अन्वयार्थ:-( जीवाः द्विविधाः ) जीव दो प्रकारके हैं-( संसारस्थाः निर्वृत्ताः ) संसारी और सिद्ध । ( चेतनात्मका: ) वे चेतनात्मक ( अपि च ) तथा ( उपयोगलक्षणा: ) उपयोगलक्षणवाले हैं । ( देहा-देहप्रवीचाराः ) संसारी जीव देहमें वर्तनेवाले अर्थात् देहसहित हैं और सिद्ध जीव देहमें न वर्तनेवाले अर्थात् देहरहित हैं।
टीका- यह, जीवके स्वरूपका कथन है।
जीव दो प्रकार के हैं-(१) संसारी अर्थात् अशुद्ध, और (२) सिद्ध अर्थात् शुद्ध । वे दोनों वास्तवमें चेतनास्वभाववाले हैं और चेतनापरिणामस्वरूप उपयोग द्वारा लक्षित होनेयोग्य ( पहिचानेजानेयोग्य ) हैं। उनमें संसारी जीव देहमें वर्तनेवाले अर्थात् देह सहित हैं और सिद्ध जीव देहमें न वर्तनेवाले अर्थात् देहरहित हैं ।।१०९।। __ संता-तदनंतरं पंचदशगाथापर्यंत जीवपदार्थाधिकारः कथ्यते । तत्र पंचदशागाथासु मध्ये प्रथमतस्तावज्जीवपदार्थाधिकारसूचनमुख्यत्वेन "जीवा संसारत्था" इत्यादि गाथासूत्रमेकं अथ पृथ्वीकायादिस्थावरैकेन्द्रियपंचमुख्यत्वेन “पुढवीय' इत्यादि पाठक्रमेण गाथाचतुष्टयं, अथ विकलेन्द्रियत्रयव्याख्यानमुख्यत्वेन 'संबुक्क' इत्यादि पाठक्रमेण गाथात्रयं, तदनंतर नारकतिर्यग्मनुष्यदेवगतिचतुष्टयपंचेन्द्रियकथनरूपेण 'सुर-णर' इत्यादि पाठक्रमेण गाथाचतुष्टयं, अथ भेदभावनामुख्यत्वेन हिताहितकर्तृत्वभोक्तृत्वप्रतिपादनमुख्यत्वेन च 'ण हि इंदियाणि' इत्यादि गाथाद्वयं, अथ जीवपदार्थोपसंहारमुख्यत्वेन तथैव अजीवपदार्थप्रारम्भमुख्यत्वेन च “एवमधिगम्म जीव" इत्यादि सूत्रमेकं । एवं पंचदशगाथाभिः षट्स्थलैर्द्वितीयांतराधिकारे समुदायपातनिका । तथाहि- जीवस्वरूपं निरूपयति, जीवाजीवा भवन्ति। किंविशिष्टाः । संसारत्था णिव्वादा-संसारस्था
