आगे प्रथम ही शास्त्रकी आदिमें “इन्द्रशतवन्दितेभ्यः" इत्यादि जिनेन्द्रको भाव नमस्कार रूप असाधारण मंगल कहूँगा ऐसा अभिप्राय मनमें धरकर आचार्य प्रथम सूत्र कहते हैं---

अन्वय सहित सामान्यार्थ - ( इंदसदबंदियाणं ) सौ इन्द्रोंसे वन्दनीक, ( तिहुअण-हिदमधुर - विसद-वक्काणं) तीन जगतको हितकारी मधुर और स्पष्ट वचन कहने वाले, ( अंतातीद- गुणाणं) अनंतगुणोंके धारी तथा (जिदभवाणं) संसारको जीतनेवाले ( जिणाणं ) अरहंतोंको ( णमो ) नमस्कार हो ।
विशेषार्थ - यहाँ के लिये को नमस्कार किया गया है । अरहंतोंके अनन्तज्ञान आदि गुणोंका स्मरण रूप भाव नमस्कार कहलाता है। सौ इन्द्रोंने अरहंतोंको नमस्कार किया - ऐसा कहनेसे अरहंतके पूज्यपने के माहात्म्यको प्रगट किया गया है तथा यह बताया है कि सौ इन्द्रोंसे नमस्कार करनेके योग्य ये ही अरहंत देव हैं और नहीं। श्री अरहंतके वचन शुद्धात्माके स्वरूपकी प्राप्तिका उपाय दिखलाने के कारणसे हित रूप हैं, वीतराग और विकल्परहित समाधिसे उत्पन्न जो स्वाभाविक अपूर्व परम आनन्द वही है निश्चय सुख उसके रसका स्वाद वही है परम समतारसमई भाव, उसके रसिक जो मनुष्य हैं उनके मनको मोहित करने वाले हैं, और वे स्पष्ट तथा व्यक्त हैं, क्योंकि उन वचनोंमें संशय-विमोह-विभ्रम नहीं है। यही सीप है या चाँदी है, ऐसे चंचल ज्ञानको संशय कहते हैं। पगमें तृणोंका स्पर्श होते हुए कुछ होगा ऐसे निश्चय करने की इच्छा न रखनेवाले भावको विमोह कहते हैं। सीपको चाँदी जान लेना सो विभ्रम है तथा वे वचन इसलिये भी स्पष्ट हैं, क्योंकि शुद्ध जीवास्तिकायको आदि लेकर सात तत्त्व, नव पदार्थ, छः द्रव्य और पाँच अस्तिकायका स्वरूप बतानेवाले हैं अथवा उन वचनों में पूर्वापर विरोध नहीं है इससे भी स्पष्ट है । अथवा अरहंतों की उस दिव्यध्वनिको सर्व जीव अपनी अपनी भाषा में सुनकर उससे स्पष्ट समझ जाते हैं। कर्णाटक, मागध, मालवा, लाट, गौड और गुर्जरइनमें प्रत्येकके तीन भेद, ऐसी १८ महाभाषा और सातसौ छोटी भाषाको आदि लेकर अनेक भाषाओंमें वह वाणी एक ही समयमें सबोंको सुनाई देती है, इससे भी वह विशद है ।

It is said that a hundred Indras saluted the Arhats, thereby revealing the greatness of the Arhats' worthiness. It is also stated that these Arhats are the only deities worthy of being saluted by a hundred Indras. The words of the Arhats are beneficial because they show the way to attain the nature of the pure soul. The natural, unparalleled, supreme bliss that arises from the samadhi free from attachment and distractions, that is the certainty of happiness, the taste of its essence, that is the supreme state of equanimity, those who are attracted to its essence, those human beings, are captivating to their minds, and they are clear and expressed, because there is no doubt, delusion, or confusion in those words. This is a shell or silver, such fickle knowledge is called doubt. The desire to be certain that something will happen when the grass touches the foot is called delusion. To know the shell as silver is delusion. And those words are also clear because they describe the seven principles, nine substances, six substances, and five astikayas, starting with the pure jiva astikaya. Or, there is no contradiction between the past and the future in those words, which also makes them clear. Or, all beings hear the divine sound of the Arhats in their own language and understand it clearly. There are eighteen major languages, including Kannada, Magadhi, Malwa, Lata, Gauda, and Gurjara, each with three divisions, and seven hundred minor languages, and that voice is heard by all at the same time in many languages, which also makes it clear.
