शब्दार्थ-मिट्टरसो-नीम और ईख का रस, सहजोस्वाभाविक तिवा '-दो, तीन और चार भाग में उवाल जाने पर, इक्कमागंतो-एक भाग शेष रहे बल, इगठाणाई -- एफस्थानिक आदि, अनुहो-अशुम रस, असुहाणं-अशुभ प्रकृतियों का, मुहो-शुभ रस, सुहाग-शुम प्रकृतियों का, सु--और !
गाथार्थ-नीम और ईख का स्वाभाविक रस तथा उसको दो. तीन, चार भाग में उबाले जाने पर एक भाग शेप रहे, उसे अशुभ प्रकृतियों का एकस्थानिक आदि अशुभ रस और शुभ प्रकृतियों का शुभ रस जानना चाहिये ।। विशेषार्थ-पूर्व गाथा में अनुभाग बंध के एकस्थानिक, विस्थानिक आदि चार भेद बतलाये हैं। उनका विशेष स्पष्टीकरण करने के साथसाथ शुभ और अशुभ प्रकृतियों के स्वभाव का भी संकेत यहां किया गया है।
अशुभ प्रकृतियों को नीम और उनके रस को नोम के रस की तथा शुभ प्रकृतियों को ईख तथा उनके रस को ईख के रस की उपमा दो है । जैसे नीम का रस स्वभाव से ही कड आ होने से पीने वाले के मुख को कड़वाहट से भर देता है, वैसे ही अशुभ प्रकृतियों का रस भी अनिष्टकारक और दुःखदायक है तथा जैसे ईख स्वभावतः मोठा और उसका रस मधुर, आनन्ददायक होता है, वैसे ही शुभ प्रकृतियों का रस भी जीवों को आनन्ददायक होता है। ___ यह तो सामान्यतया बतलाया गया है कि नीम और ईख के पेरने पर उनमें से निकलने वाला स्वाभाविक रस स्वभावतः कड़बा और मीठा होता है। इस कड बेपन और मीठेपन को एकस्थानिक रस जानना चाहिए । इस स्वाभाविक एकस्थानिक रस के द्विस्थानिक, निस्थानिक और चतुःस्थानिक प्रकारों को क्रमशः इस प्रकार समझना
