सागरोपम उत्कृष्ट अबन्धकाल है । स्थावरचतुष्क, एकेन्द्रिय जाति, विकलेन्द्रिय और आतप नामकर्म का मनुष्य भत्र सहित चार पल्योपम अधिक एकसौ पचासी सागरोपम उत्कृष्ट अवन्धकाल जानना चाहिए।
पहले संहनन और संस्थान व बिहायोगति के सिवाय शेष पांच संहनन, पांच संस्थान, विहायोगति, अनंतानुबंधी कषाय, मिथ्यात्व मोहनीय, दुर्भगत्रिक, नीच गोत्र, नपुंसक वेद और स्त्री वेद की अबंधस्थिति मनुष्य भव सहित एकसो बत्तीस सागरोपम है। इन प्रकृतियों की अबंधस्थिति पंचे. न्द्रिय में जानना चाहिये।
विशेषार्थ-इन दो गामाओं में उन उतार कृतियों के नाम - लाये हैं जिनका उत्कृष्ट अबन्धकाल पंचेन्द्रियों में है। इन प्रकृतियों की कुल संख्या ४१ है जो पहले और दूसरे गुणस्थान में बंधयोग्य है । पहले गुणस्थान में बंधयोग्य सोलह और दूसरे गुणस्थान में बंधयोग्य पच्चीस प्रकृतियां हैं । सारांश यह है कि इन इकतालीस प्रकृतियों का बंध उन्हीं जीवों को होता है जो पहले अथवा दूसरे गुणस्थान में होते हैं । जो जीव इन गुणस्थानों को छोड़कर आगे बढ़ जाते हैं, उनके उक्त इकतालीस प्रकृतियों का बंध तब तक नहीं होता है जब तक वे पुनः उन गुणस्थानों में नहीं आते हैं। दूसरे गुणस्थान से आगे पंचेन्द्रिय जीव ही बढ़ते हैं । एकेन्द्रिय और विकलेन्द्रियों के पहले, दूसरे के सिवाय आगे के गुणस्थान नहीं होते हैं। इसीलिए गाथा में बताई गई इकतालीस प्रकृतियों के अबन्धकाल को पंचेन्द्रिय जीवों की अपेक्षा बतलाया है।

The **Sagaropama** is the **utkrista avandhakala** (highest state of non-attachment). Firstly, except for **sanhanan**, **sansthan**, and **vihayogati**, the remaining **five sanhanan**, **five sansthan**, **vihayogati**, **anantaanubandhi kshaya**, **mithyatva mohaniya**, **durbhagtrik**, **neech gotra**, **napuंसक ved**, and **stri ved** have a state of non-attachment of **132 Sagaropama** along with **bhav** (existence).
