विकलत्रिक की उत्कृष्ट स्थिति अठारह कोड़ाकोड़ी सागर प्रमाण है । पहले संस्थान और पहले संहनन की दस कोड़ाकोड़ी सागरोपम और आगे के प्रत्येक संस्थान और संहनन की स्थिति में दो-दो सागरोपम की वृद्धि जानना चाहिये । विशेषार्ष-गाथा में ज्ञानावरण, दर्शनावरण और अन्तराय कर्म की सभी उत्तर प्रकृतियों की एवं असाता वेदनीय और नामकर्म की कुछ उत्तर प्रकृतियों की उत्कृष्ट स्थिति बतलाई है।
कर्मों की उत्तर प्रकृतियों की उत्कृष्ट स्थिति के सम्बन्ध में यह जानना चाहिये कि उनकी स्थिति मूल प्रकृतियों की स्थिति से अलग नहीं है किन्तु उत्तर प्रकृतियों की स्थिति में से जो स्थिति सबसे अधिक होती है, वही मूल प्रकृति की उत्कृष्ट स्थिति मान ली गई है । इसीलिये उत्तर प्रकृतियों की उत्कृष्ट स्थिति को बतलाते हुए कहा है कि
'विग्धावरणअसाए तीस' ज्ञानावरण, दर्शनावरण, अंतराय की क्रमशः पांच, नोग्और पांच तथा असाता वेदनीय, इन बीस प्रकृतियों की उत्कृष्ट स्थिति मूल कर्म प्रकृतियों के बराबर तीस कोड़ाकोड़ी सागरोपम की है । लेकिन नामकर्म की उत्तर प्रकृतियों को उत्कृष्ट स्थिति में अधिक विषमता है, अतः उसकी उत्तर प्रकृतियों की नामोल्लेख सहित अलग-अलग स्थिति बतलाई है।
