The Fifth Karma Grantha
107
After explaining the ten bondage-sites and nine super-bondages of the Mohaniya karma, as well as the eight less-extensive and two inexpressible bondages, now they are describing the bondage-sites and super-bondages etc. of the Namaka karma and Jnanavaranakarma etc.
The Namaka karma has three, five, six, eight and nine more, twenty and thirty, thirty-one, one type of bondage-sites. And in them, there are six super-bondages, seven less-extensive bondages, eight subsistent bondages, and three inexpressible bondages. In the remaining five karmas (other than Darshanavarana, Mohaniya and Namaka), there is one bondage-site each.
The special meaning is that this gatha tells the number of bondage-sites of the Namaka karma and the super-bondages etc. in them, as well as the bondage-sites of the remaining five karmas.
The Namaka karma has eight bondage-sites, and the number of some of them is indicated by hints. For example, 'tippanchanavahiya vīsā' means three more than twenty, five more than twenty, six more than twenty, eight more than twenty, nine more than twenty, from which the number of the respective prakritis (types) are twenty-three, twenty-five, twenty-six, etc. respectively.
