इस प्रकारको युद्धनीतिकी दुर्बलता वर्तमान युद्ध के परिणामने ही प्रकट कर दी। हावर्ड युनिवर्सिटी के तत्वज्ञान के प्रो० डा. जाज सान्तायनने युद्धपर गम्भीर विचार कर जो बात युद्धके पूर्व लिखी थी वह पूरोपकी रक्त-रजित भूमिमें भाज दृष्टिगोचर हो रही है । डॉ० जार्जने लिखा था-"युद्ध राष्ट्रको सम्पत्तिका नाश करता है, उद्योगोंको सन्द करता है, राष्ट्रके तरुगोंको स्वाहा कर देता है, सहानुभतिको संकीर्ण बनाता है और साहसी सैनिक वृत्तिवालों द्वारा शासित होने के सुर्भाग्यको प्राप्त करता है। वह भावी पौड़ीको उत्पत्तिका भार दुबल, बदसूरत, पौरुषहीन गदिनयों सौंपता है । यतको सभासदालांकी गुर स्वीकार करना, ऐसा ही है जैसे व्यभिचारको प्रेमकी भूमि कह्ना ।"१
दात्मटरपका कथन बड़ा महत्वपुर्ण है, "युद्धका ध्येम प्राणघात है, उसके अस्त्र है जासूसी, छल, छलकी प्रेरणा, अधिवासियोंका विनाश, उनकी संपत्तिका अपहरण करना अथवा सेनाको रसदको चोरी करना, वगा और मूठ, जिन्हें सैनिक उस्तादी कहते हैं। संनिक व्यवसायकी आदतों में स्व-तंत्रताका अभाव रहता है। वमको अनुशासन, आलस्य, अज्ञानता, क्रूरता, व्यभिचार तथा सराबखोरी कहते है।"
साधारणतया लोग युद्धकी भीषणताको भूलकर उसके औचित्यका समर्थन कर बैठते हैं ! ऐसोंको इयूक साफ वेलिंगटन के ये शब्द शान्त भावसे हृदयंगम करना चाहिए जिनमें कहा है "मेरी बात मानिये, अगर तुम युद्धको एक दिन
