Tree fruits may be divided into two groups: those from the so-called deciduous fruit trees that shed their leaves in the fall, such as the apple, pear, peach, plum, cherry and apricot; and those from trees that shed leaves in the spring but are considered evergreen, including the orange, grapefruit, lemon and other citrus fruits. Strawberries, blueberries, gooseberries, cranberries, currants, blackberries and raspberries are also important fruits, combining the virtues of high nutritional value and pleasing taste. Finally, melons and grapes must be included among the fruits widely consumed by man. A nut is a hard-shelled fruit. Cashewnuts, walnuts, almonds and pistachio nuts have high proteins and fat content. Oil Seeds such as groundnuts also contain high proteins and fat. (v) Milk and milk products: They are utilized to produce varieties of food products such as cheese, paneer, sweets, ice-cream and various other desserts.
