________________ Kalpasutra This scripture details and prescribes the code of conduct and rules of discipline to be followed by the ascetic community. It also contains the biographical sketches of the Tirthankars. The language of Kalpasutra is Ardha-Magadhi (Präkrit). In first century BCE, Shrut-kevali Bhadrabähu-swämi compiled Kalpasutra. It is the earliest known account of the life of Mahävir-swämi, the 24th Tirthankar, and places him in relation to his 23 predecessors.
