in brief and not exhaustively. In the commentary we also find Kārikās. We are not sure that these kārikās are of the author himself or of the commentators. In these kārikās we also find important linguistic material easily and simply defined Thus to know more about our ancient linguistic tradition, it is very essential to invastigate Katantra in depth. It has its own धातुपाठ, उणादि system and to much material for commentaries. It is hoped that the attempt of research in this side will certainly make clear the chain of our ancient grammatical tradition and will also bring out some monumental results.
