________________ 118 : śramaņa, Vol 59, No. 1/January-March 2008 Infinite Darśana (Ananta Faith) Infinite Knowledge (Ananta Jñāna) Infinite Bliss (Ananta Ananda) Infinite Power (Ananta Vīrya) There are two types of Upayoga - Jñānopayoga and Darśnopayoga. The Jñānopayoga is determinates (Savikalpa) while Darsnopayoga is indeterminate (Nirvikalpa) Jñānopayoga Jñānopayoga is further devided as a. Svabhāvajñāna The knowledge which is related to soul and which needs no help from any sense or mind. It is also named as Kevalajñāna, which is a complete knowledge or omniscience. So the Kevaliis addressed as omniscient. b. Vibhāvajñāna The knowledge which is incomplete and which needs help from different senses, mind and soul also is known as Vibhāvajñāna. The Vibhāvajñānais divided into two classes-SamyakJñana (Right Knowledge) and Mithyā Jñāna (False Knowledge). Samyak-Jñana has four types1. Matijñāna- The knowledge based on senses and mind is known as Matijñāna, such as sight, touch, taste, smell, sound etc. 2. Śrutajñāna- The knowledge acquired through scripture and hearing the teachings of saints, seers and great scholars. 3. Avadhijñāna- The knowledge about thing having from (Rūpa), obtained though soul is known as Avadhijñāna. Manahparyāyajñāna-To know the different modes (paryāya) of other's mind (mana), through soul is considered as the Manahparyāyajñāna. Mithyājñāna has also three types: 1.
