Story of the Eighth Chakravarti Shubham
Subham - the eighth Chakravarti was from Hastinapur. King Anantavirya, brother in law of Brahman Parshuram was living happily in the kingdom of Hastinapur. Once they had some quarrel so Parshuram killed King Anantvirya. After that, his son Kritavirya became king and married RajkumariTaradevi.
Once Taradevi saw 14 auspicious dreams, she was happy to know about the arrival of a brave child in their family. Knowing about the war between Ksatriya and Brahman clan, she took special care for her child's safety. Once king Kritavirya killed rishi Jamadagni, father of Parshuram, at his ashram, so in a fit of revenge Parshurama arrived at Hastinapur. When Taradeviheard this sheran away to save the unborn child and took shelter at an ashram in the forest. Here she stayed inan underground room where she gave a birth to Subham. Here also Parshurama came to kill the Ksatriya clan child but couldn't succeed.
The young Subhamone day asked his mother about his father. Mother Taradevi replied that his father Kritavirya was the king of Hastinapur. Later on due to family dispute he was killed by Parshuram and the kingdom of Hastinapur was appropriated by him. Thus he came to know that his father and even his grandfather were killed by Parshuram so he immediately marched towards Hastinapur. There he sat on the throne. Parshuram immediately recognized him and tried to kill him with his Parshu, instead Subham killed Parshuram.
In due course Shubham became Chakravarti king, after winning over all the kingdoms in Bharatkshetra. To further expand his kingdom, he commenced his journey to an island on a Palakhi. His Palakhi having army within was held by a group of deities. While passing through LavanaSamudra, every deity thought for asecond, "So many deities are holding the Palakhi, suppose for a moment if I leave my hand for rest, nothing will happen." But every deity thought the same at that exact second, resulting in the Palakhifalling in the ocean, killing the entire army along with SubhamChakravarti.
ChakravartiSubham couldn't perform any penance before the death so his jiva went to Seventh hell/ Naraka. Acquiring all prosperity and many kingdoms sometimes even the Chakravartis are not satisfied.
