How can one fill ghee into an emptied bottle of kerosene without properly cleaning it? It will surely smell like kerosene. Whenever you need to reuse the bottle of Kerosene for filling up ghee, you first need to clean it thoroughly. However, even if a slightest trace of kerosene is left behind, then it would be of no use to pour in the ghee.
Keeping this in mind, we should realize that we have spent years and years in materialistic achievements, fulfilling our desires but have always been miles away from the purification of our soul.
